There are four pillars of flipped classroom that have to be focused when applying this method into class.
Four Pillars of FLIP
F is Flexible enviroment
Flexible environment is a surrounding in which allows variety learning modes. In this environment, educators often physically rearrange their learning spaces to accommodate a lesson. During this rearrangement take place, the educator will make sure that this environment able to support either group work or independent study for the lesson that is being conducted. This flexible spaces also allows the students to choose when and where they want to learn.
L is Learning Culture
Learning culture involved in this flipped classroom is learner centered approach or also knows as student centered teaching. This culture allows the students to explore the topics in a greater depth and creating rich learning opportunities.
I is Intentional Content
Intentional content is a way where the educators determine what they need to teach and wha tmaterials the students should explore on their own. This make sure that students have maximum time in classroom to learn and apply what they have learnt.
P is Professional Content
In professional content, educators continually observe their students, providing them with the feedback relevant in the moment and assessing their work. They also make professional judgement about their teaching method. They reflect in their practice, accept constructive criticism and connect with each other to improve their instruction in the class.
This flipped classroom is fits with the revised Bloom's Taxonomy whereby the students able to finish the lower level of cognitive work at home or before class and in class, they engage with higher cognitive levels of learning.
